At first, Focus V Carta looks like a small, mysterious kitchen appliance due to its white and grey scheme and globular design. However, it is a practical device designed like the Puffco Peak in terms of a base holding both the dab receptacle and the heating element.
The design is compact enough to fit comfortably into an included protective pouch. The dab device also comes with a concentrate atomizer, two batteries, a carb cap, and an optional herb atomizer. Apart from the base unit and atomizers, the device also has the borosilicate water attachment and a titanium and quartz bowl to select from.
The water attachment takes in more water than that of the Peak and aids in cooling the vapor. The borosilicate glass piece is atop the base for inhaling, giving stability while holding the whole thing.
The way you use the dab device depends on your choice for hot or cold loading. You start by filling the attachment with a small amount of water and adding one of the buckets into the receptacle.
For cold load, put a small amount of concentrate into the receptacle, press the power button at the base, set your temperature between 600°F to 940°F, and inhale. For hot load, press the power button first and allow it to warm up, add a small amount of concentrate, shield the chamber using the cap, and inhale.
The dab rig can handle a large intake without clogging. Thanks to the water added to the attachment to ensure draw resistance and vapor cooling. This means you can enjoy heavy and long draws without a splash.
The four diagonal lights close to the power button show temperature and battery levels. Nevertheless, they are not needed when the heating is over, as the haptic feedback is what you get. The device will vibrate when ready.
